COMPARING THE FREQUENCY OF MANIFESTATION OF HYPERDONTIA AND HYPODONTIA

Introduction: Hypodontia and hyperdontia are two dental phenomena with deviations in the number of teeth - reduction increase tooth germs. The aim study is to compare frequency manifestation hypodontia, their distribution by groups among Bulgarian orthodontic patients. Materials methods: prospective clinical-epidemiological covered 2676 patients: 1705 (63.7%) female 971 (36.3%) male. They were detected diagnostically proven supernumerary missing teeth. findings distributed according localization make a comparative analysis. Results: patients established hypodontia 5.79% average age 15.17±5.34 years, 3.13% 11.80±4.65 years. Statistically credible, was more frequently observed males, while significantly females. most commonly mandibular distal segment second premolars (46.5%), next affected maxillary lateral (37.4%), followed (32.3%), least frontal (12.9%). found incisors mesiodens (91%) compared (9%) significant. In mandible, difference between (42.3%) (57.7%) without statistical significance. Conclusions: Knowledge clinical characteristics important for targeted early diagnosis treatment. Both these specific problems have an effect on individual's function psychosocial well-being.
